Right, but what is it?
So I went looking on Wikipedia to see what it had to say about the practice of Christian worship…
Worship usually refers to specific acts of religious devotion, typically directed to one or more deities.
Wow, I’m glad that clears it up…
Right.
You see, when I was a student at the highly esteemed Warner Southern College, I took a class called “Introduction to Christian Worship” that to be honest was probably the most valuable class I took (don’t tell any of my other professors). Since it was a class required for a major that only one person was in (my roommate), I decided to take it with him as an elective, which then bloated the class roster to a whopping 4 students plus the professor.
I always enjoyed small classes. It was in classes like this that you could look outside, see how nice the breeze looked, and just say, “hey, can we have class outside today?” And sure enough, that was all it took before you found yourself sitting with 4 other people in the Quad having a very in-depth discussion about the theological ramifications of the American flag being displayed in a Christian sanctuary during a worship service.
Well, anyway, you see, I have been given the charge my my senior pastor to begin to pursue a worship experience that lines up with the vision that guides my calling to Christian ministry. You see, when most people go in for a performance review, they are told that they have to increase sales to meet the quarterly quota. I, however, have found myself walking out of a performance review (if you can actually even call it that) with questions that, even in the short time since the discussion took place (yesterday), that would most likely keep me awake at night (that is if I weren’t so tired).
So what is it? What does it mean to truly worship God? And more importantly, what does it mean for Josh Boldman to truly worship God? And even more confounding, what does it mean for Josh Boldman to effectively lead a cogregation to worship God while creating an urgency for renewal and restoration?
Luckily, I’ve got some time to figure these things out, but be sure, they are questions I’m constantly asking myself.

Josh Boldman just so happens to be married to the most beautiful woman alive, and on top of that, she just gave birth to their first son, Ezekiel. Josh is currently serving as a Youth Minister in Central Florida.
