A Sad State of Affairs

Ok, so I was perusing the internets (the trucks, not the tubes) when I wandered across this image:

Now, here’s the kicker… Isn’t it sad that my first thought was, “when was the last time gas was $1.59?”

I mean, I understand inflation and the falling dollar, but come on. How is it that even 3 or 4 years ago we were paying $1.59 and now the gas station across the street is selling the liquid gold for $3.59? I guess at the end of the day the bicycle is still king.

Interesting photo…but I was looking at gas prices in Winter Haven today. I paid $3.61/gallon, but I saw a couple places at $3.65 & $3.66/gallon! Wow! This is getting bad!
