What exactly is “scratch” anyways?
Under Life By Josh Boldman
So my beautiful wife, Rachel, and I decided to embark on a potentially perilous journey. Yes, we decided to attempt what others may have considered impossible. Yes, we decided to make pumpkin pie from a real pumpkin. That’s right, we have tossed the “canned pumpkin” and we’re never looking back.
I’ll save you the lengthy story and give you a quick run down:
We started with this:
Then we did a little bit of this:
Put the pies in this:
And then they looked very much, if not exactly like this:
And they tasted like this:
Yes, that’s correct, after hours and hours (roughly one and a half), we had created the best pumpkin pie that we had ever tasted. What a wonderful Thanksgiving!

That looks incredible. Pie isn’t a dessert, it’s an investment. I delicious investment.

So true, so true. It took a while, but let me tell you, it was a million times better than simply going out and buying a pumpkin pie from the grocery store. I mean, it was incredible. Glad to know someone else appreciates the work that goes into creating a truly magnificent pie.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks! It was a little iffy there for a while, but the pie turned out awesome! Can’t wait to try it again!

Holy smokes — homemade pumpkin pie? Impressive.
Thanks for your comment on my Joel Osteen post. He’s quite the creeper, isn’t he? Thanks also for clarifying the biblical reference there, I totally missed it. You’re right, he takes the Holy out of scripture. Ugh.
Anyways, thanks again!
