Just Call It Josh, Jr…. unless it’s a girl

Well, as most who read this have already heard, we found out recently that my beautiful bride, Rachel, is with child. I mean, seriously, how cool is that? But of course, with the prospect of becoming a father, I became somewhat nostalgic amd began looking at some old photographs of my father holding me as a newborn, so I figured that I would share that photo with you:

Wasn’t I cute?

But then again, as I kept looking at this photo, I began thinking, what will it look like when I first hold my son or daughter? So I began experimenting with Photoshop and came up with an (incredibly talented) artist’s rendering of the future:

But then I looked at the two photos side by side and figured that there was something missing… what could it be? And then it hit me!!!

Scroll down to see the a true vision of the future:

Now isn’t that a priceless look into both the future and the past at the same time? I’d almost be willing to call it art…

Anyways, to take it back to a more serious note, the prospect of becoming a father is quite sobering, but at the same time it is incredibly exciting. And I am certainly blessed that I get to share the entire experience with the most amazing woman in the world (Rachel, that’s you.).

We did get a chance to go to the “woman doctor” yesterday, and she gave us a tentative due date of April 21st, 2008. Of course, in order to get a more professional second opinion, I may try calling Miss Cleo later this afternoon to see what the sun, moon, and stars have to say about it. Of course I’m kidding (but only because Miss Cleo is no longer in business).

If it hasn’t come across in my writing, we are terribly excited, and we are looking forward to the future that God has in store for us and this little one that He has chosen to bless us with. I’ll try to keep you informed as we find out more.
