Grandpa Gary, This Is For You

Ok, so I realize that I haven’t exactly posted in quite some time… Ok, in a really long time. Like since June 15th. I guess you could say that a “few” things have happened to me since then…

Ok, so the most obvious, about 15 days after my last post, I got married to the most amazing and beautiful woman in the entire world, Rachel Boldman, formerly Hussey… Ok, let me just explain that. Formerly Rachel Hussey, not formerly a Hussey. The wedding was awesome and the honeymoon was even better. To be honest, I really don’t remember the wedding too much. It was all such a whirlwind. All I remember is that Tina told me where to be and what to do, and I pretty much did it. No problem. And at the end of it all, I had a ring on my finger and really good looking woman that keeps following me home. Yeah, things are nice.

Anyways, so after the honeymoon, we got back and settled in to our Sanford Apartment, when I started catching wind that the Administration at Crossings Community Church wasn’t too fond of their Youth Pastor… who just so happened to be me. Any way, to make a terribly long (and terribly terrible) story short, I stopped serving as the Youth Pastor at Crossings near the end of July.

I immediately began talking with the good folks at Westside Community Church about their open positions in the areas of Youth and Worship, and we hit it off famously (I’m not really sure why we hit it off famously, as neither of us were famous, but that’s besides the point). They said that they were looking for someone who would lead both worship and the youth program, who was also feeling God’s call toward church planting. Wow. You don’t hear that very often. They might as well have said, “We’d like someone to invest their life in two of our key programs and then leave in about three to five years.” Well, that was pretty much exactly our plan anyway, so after much prayer, Rachel and I decided that I should accept their offer. So on September 11th, 2006, I became that Associate Pastor of Youth and Worship for Westside Community Church, and it has been a great ride so far.

On November 1st, my beautiful bride and I moved to Apopka to save us the commute from Sanford (which is downright terrible if you ask me, which you probably didn’t). We’re currently renting a nice 3 bedroom house on a couldesac right near the church.

Well, that’s about all for now. Maybe more to come. If I continue on my current trend, I’ll be updating this sometime in May.

Wow; you and your hussey seem to be having a great time…I fully understand those at Crossings who didn’t understand…you and they are probably better off…being sent to a "better place" (sounds menacing) was a stroke of luck (or prayer)…they certainly were the big winners…Keep the blog flowing…Love Grandpa
